Walks with Celan

Pierre Joris has an extract from a memoir, and it is gorgeous.

Please read it.

I just read some of Celan's poems for the first time recently. He's a poet I had never come across before for some reason, but I'm so glad I did. I also bought my copy of your book the other week and have been enjoying reading it - great poems and illustrations too. 'Fauning' is my favourite so far and I thought what you did with The Garden Party really effective too.

I'm a big fan of Celan.
And thanks for the comments. I'm really happy with "Fauning", but don't tend to write that kind of thing as much now.

Treated texts are fun.

Re Celan, I'd reccomend John Felstiner's translations, and, though I haven't read them, I here Pierre Joris' are great too.
